PrismML releases Ternary Bonsai 2 27B

PrismML's Qwen3.8 27B derivative is available under Apache 2.0. The smallest GGUF language-model file is 5.95 GB, with a separate optional vision component for image input.

Running the GGUF files requires PrismML's llama.cpp fork, which supplies the model's custom ternary inference kernels.

CircuitPython Turbo brings compiled modules to RP2040 and RP2350 builds

Official continuous builds now load host-compiled Native and Viper .mpy modules on RP2040 and RP2350 boards. Stable CircuitPython 10.3.0 predates the feature; compiled modules must match the board's CPU architecture.

Developers can compile custom arithmetic loops while keeping the surrounding application in Python.

Espressif publishes Zephyr emulation guide for four ESP32 targets

The guide covers ESP32, ESP32-S3, ESP32-C3 and ESP32-C6 using Espressif's QEMU fork and the Zephyr SDK. ESP32-C6 currently requires building QEMU from source; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth workloads still need hardware.

The documented workflow supports firmware boot tests and GDB debugging before a physical board is available.

TrueNAS introduces Proxmox storage plugin for early adopters

The plugin connects Proxmox VE 8.x or later to TrueNAS 25.10+, automating VM disk provisioning and ZFS snapshots. NVMe/TCP requires Proxmox VE 9.x and nvme-cli on every node; iSCSI is also supported.

ISO images and backup files remain on NFS or SMB shares because the plugin manages block storage only.

GitHub Actions adds per-workflow execution policies at general availability

Actor and event allowlists now support individual workflow files, policy insights and a REST API. Evaluate mode reports which runs would be blocked before administrators enforce the rules.

A deployment workflow can be limited to a designated team while CI workflows in the same repository remain open to contributors.

GitHub Actions makes Ubuntu 26.04 runners generally available

The image is supported for production workflows on x64 and arm64. The ubuntu-latest label will migrate from Ubuntu 24.04 between October 19 and November 19, 2026; changed tools or packages may break dependent builds.

Workflows can test ubuntu-26.04 now or pin ubuntu-24.04 to retain the current operating-system image during the migration.
